HERS ECC Title 24 Group
How It Works
From “you need a test” to final approval, in four steps.
- Tell us about your project. Call +1 (916) 7901-ECC or use the schedule form. Have your permit number or contractor’s name handy if you can — but if all you know is “the city says I need a HERS test,” that’s enough to start.
- We confirm scope and send your CIF. Before the visit you’ll know exactly which tests apply and how long we’ll be there. No meter-running surprises.
- We test. Most single-system residential visits take one to two hours. You don’t need to prepare anything beyond access to the equipment, registers, and attic or crawl space.
- We file, you finish. Results are uploaded to CHEERS — generating the Project Status Report your building department checks — and you receive your Project Owner Report for your records.
If a test fails
A failed test isn’t a disaster and it isn’t a shakedown — it’s the system doing its job. We document exactly what fell short, your contractor fixes it (that conversation is between you and them; the report gives you the facts), and we retest. You’re done when it passes, and the record shows it.
